"Oud is the quintessence of woody scents. Its unique olfactory interest makes it the most precious material you can work with, a diamond. I had the pleasure of working with an amazing quality oud from Ajmal in India, in which all the aromatic aspects of oud are in perfect balance: smoky, lively, leathery, addictive and powerful. But what makes this fragrance fascinating is its heart, which belongs to Magnolia Lilybelle which gives it a lively note of freshness, an aquatic character. Then, I used a generous dose of Ambrocenide® and Ambrostar®, aromatic molecules that make the fragrance last forever. I composed chords with 3 extremely rare woody materials, the heart of patchouli which helps to reveal the dark side of oud, the sacred sandalwood of India which unfolds a very pleasant, velvety, warm aroma and finally the Madagascar vetiver which gives an earthy almost smoky aromatic effect. These 3 materials combined with the appropriate formula, are like a hybrid of the ideal wood. The last note belongs to the Oud Boya which underlines the oriental, woody character of the fragrance."
